VVT Landhausplatz SKATE game
On Saturday, September 3rd, the international skateboarding elite will be guests in Tyrol and will compete in the heart of the Tyrolean capital at Landhausplatz. In cooperation with the state of Tyrol, the Tyrol transport association and the Skateboard Club Innsbruck, the perfect skate surface in front of the monument will be used for the supreme discipline, the so-called Game of SKATE.
In this head-to-head format, 16 men and eight women, two riders each, compete directly against each other and try to copy the opponent’s technical tricks as best as possible.
Athletes confirmed so far: Inside are the currently best flat skater in the world Jamie Griffin from Ireland, the super technical rider Levi Loffelberger from Salzburg and the Spaniard Andrea Benitez, who started last year as the world’s first woman at the Olympic Games in Tokyo.
These and many other top-class athletes compete to secure part of the total prize money of 7,500 euros, which is divided equally between the male and female participants
In addition to the exciting competition, the VVT Landhausplatz Game of SKATE will be a skateboard festival for the whole family. With a varied programmefrom skateboard workshops for children & young people, a rock-paper-scissors competition for all age groups, in which you can win climate tickets provided by the VVT, to a final concert presented by the Dachsbau Club with the German newcomer Rapper Ramzey and the Innsbruck rapper Mary Mabu, the entire square is filled with life.
