Ukrainians in Portugal call for foreign policy review to prevent ″Russian aggression″
The Association of Ukrainians in Portugal this Friday thanked the Minister of Foreign Affairs, João Gomes Cravinho, for the support that the country has given to Ukraine and calls for a review of foreign policy to “prevent Russian aggression”.
In a letter sent to the minister, the Association asks the minister that “Portugal’s foreign policy be reviewed to prevent the continuation of the barbaric and merciless Russian aggression”.
For the Association, only with a “joint and intransigent force will the Russians release the prisoners and the territory that are in Ukraine”.
In the letter, signed by the president of the Association, Pavlo Sadokha, it is also highlighted that at this stage of the war, the Portuguese government was always on the side of the Ukrainian people, both in Ukraine and in welcoming refugees.
“In your last threat to Kiev, on Ukraine’s independence day, Your Excellency showed your courage and solidarity with the Ukrainian people, when Russian forces launched new acts of aggression”, is a reference.
The Association recalls that the Russian Federation “continues to flout any international agreements on the way prisoners of war are treated”.
“On the 31st of August, Your Excellency, decided within the framework of the European Union, the end of the process of facilitating views for the citizens of the European Union. , violations and victims of Russian aggression”, is underlined in the letter.
In the Association’s opinion, all the West’s commitment will only increase its consistency by Vladimir Putin who “manages unscathed regardless of the brutality of his acts”.
