Longoria prevents two big sales in Marseille
OM Mercato: During the last hours of the transfer window, Pablo Longoria had the opportunity to make two big sales in Marseille. He decided otherwise.
OM Mercato: Longoria confirms offers for Gerson and Guendouzi
Stuck in a complicated financial situation, Olympique de Marseille had to part with several players on the last day of the transfer window. If OM finally managed to get rid of Jordan Amavi and Duje Caleta-Car, Bamba Dieng was also close to leaving the Marseille ship in order to bounce back at OGC Nice. The various parties involved in this file had agreed on his transfer to the tune of 12 million euros. But this transaction failed at the last moment, since the Senegalese international failed the medical examination.
Except for a huge turnaround, Bamba Dieng will therefore continue his career at Olympique de Marseille this season. In addition to this file, OM could also have completed two totally unexpected sales in the last moments of the transfer market. Several foreign teams have approached the Marseille management with a view to a possible transfer of Gerson. Matteo Guendouzi has also been the subject of a big offensive from Serie A. “We had offers for Gerson, several in England and one in Spain. Then an offer in Italy for Mattéo Guendouzi”confirmed Pablo Longoria in person at a press conference.
OM Mercato: The Marseille management held firm
If the president of OM refuses to say the prices or to reveal the identity of the recognized clubs, one thing is certain. The sales of Gerson and Matteo Guendouzi could have been a big reporter in Marseilles. But for the Marseille management, it was out of the question to lose these two talents at the end of the summer transfer window. The Marseille leaders kindly refused the various proposals for the two players. “I’m not going to say the price or the clubs, but we held on”, added Pablo Longoria. This end of the transfer window was obviously very agitated within the Marseille club.
