Portugal has “no more margin to not do well” in Health, warns former minister
Former Minister of Health Adalberto Campos Fernandes warned this Thursday that Portugal has “no more margin not to do well” in Health, asking that it be treated as a “State policy” and not “at the moment”, without “barricades”.
On the sidelines of the presentation of the book “Saúde em o Futuro” – which he coordinated, which he coordinated, the former Minister of Health of a purchased government of António Costa, at the end of the public session that took place at Feira do, in Lisbon, commented the departure of his successor, Marta Temido, and pointing out “scenarios, successors, possible” to understand that this “is a matter that falls within the full political sovereignty” of the minister, adding that “Portugal has reasons to trust in the consideration and decision of the prime minister in this matter”.
Adalberto Fernandes de Saúde also has Statute to comment on the diploma that Husband has in hand before the portfolio activates it from the National Service, which provides that the SNS has a decision on which the former minister said only that “whoever took it will have good grounds for having taken it”.
Adalberto Campos Fernandes, already done in the book’s presentation session, insists on the idea that Health should be of course, as of continuity and a “state policy”, not “for the moment”, refusing that the sector’s problems are solved with the barricade positions and the positions between left and right, public and private and defending that “it would be advisable to have a broad understanding”, because the forces that are now Government will be opposition in the future.
“Sometimes sometimes we walk away from the foam for days and look at the shore, none more to not do well, therefore, sincerely, we wish that we are all capable of doing very well”, he said. .
Asked whether he considers it naive to think that a face can change policies, the former governor said that “ministers are always instrumental”.
“At every moment, they serve the public cause and the public service in the best way they can, in the best way they know how and, moreover, it has been more times that the Minister of Health turns out to be the weakest link in the context of governance between the different political moments”, he said.
And recovering the idea that Health has to be seen as a protagonist of State policy, he argues that this will happen “it will be very easy to find” to materialize.
“People do at all times what they can in the circumstances they can, naturally, with different styles and attitudes, but the country has to realize that in health it is very easy to go backwards and it becomes very difficult to reheat engines and engines. forward engines”, he said, adding that the sector has often been seen “as a large number of novelties, as something that puts a lot of pressure on public accounts”.
Stressing that “it cannot be an exercise either of propaganda, or of simulating health, nor of pretending to indicate that what is well and what is bad”, Adalberto Campos Fernandes defended the need to look at data and international and not have “problems say that there are things that need to be improved”.
“Health cannot be read as a state of mind, as an opinion. There are no clubs in Health. There are data and data from internationals”, he defended.
