News from the land register – insurance companies cash in in Salzburg
Houses in the historic center of Salzburg are rare and sought after. Only a few large transactions take place each year. In the last few months, several properties from the portfolio of two insurance companies have changed hands. In April, Wüstenrot separates from several houses or parts of houses in Griesgasse at the entrance to the old town. The buildings, some of whose history dates back to the Middle Ages, went to a company from Gmunden for 14.7 million euros. The Upper Austrian smart home company Loxone holds the majority in this. On the other bank of the Salzach, Uniqa sold a Gründerzeit house opposite the Andräkirche, a few meters from Mirabell Palace, for 13.6 million euros at the end of June. The Grätzel is considered the hippest district in the city. The building is part of the Faber houses that were built by the Salzburg master builder Valentin Ceconi. The new owner is Kuhn Autovermietung GmbH, owned by the Salzburg construction machinery dealer Günter Kuhn, who had sales of EUR 610 million with his Kuhn Group last year.
20 million for Naschmarkt-Zinshaus
The times when the fifth district in Vienna was considered cheap are long gone. Top prices are achieved especially in the locations near the Naschmarkt. It’s no wonder that private owners are taking the opportunity to exit. That happened last in July in the Kettenbrückengasse. A group of owners who live scattered across several countries sold an apartment building for 20 million euros. The magnificent property with bay windows, stucco facade and shops on the ground floor went to Grund & Wert Immobilien AG. Behind this is the Scholz family, who have been among the big names in the Viennese apartment building market for years.
