les nouveaux renforts de policiers sont arrivés
These reinforcements constitute the second wave announced by Gérald Darmanin during his visit to Gironde in the spring of 2021. The minister had committed to the arrival of 140 additional police officers to, at the time, “stop the rising spiral of insecurity in Bordeaux “. The promise has been kept since a hundred agents have already been assigned in September 2021 in the districts of Bordeaux and Arcachon, which had not received reinforcements since 2009.
“Blue in the Street”
These police officers, officers and guards, essentially occupy public road missions. The 73 arrivals, 15 of whom are women, will be assigned to the Center division (Bordeaux, Bègles, Villenave-d’Ornon, Le Bouscat and Bruges) as well as to the East division, on the right bank (Cenon, Lormont, Bassens, Floirac, Bouliac and Artigues-près-Bordeaux). “These are consequences that will allow us to strengthen our presence in the field, in particular at night for the Center division, but also day and night for the Eastern division”, confides the divisional commissioner Éric Krust, deputy departmental director of public safety.
“We had to upgrade the public security staff so that we could see police on the street,” said Gérald Darmanin during a stop at the police station in the Aubiers district in March 2021. Putting “blue in the street”, it is indeed to reassure citizens who are prey to a feeling of insecurity in large metropolises. “We have found a change in the work cycle in place to be even more efficient and mark our mark on the public highway”, emphasizes Éric Krust. This new concept will be accompanied by a new judicial organization at the level of urban security (SU) which will also receive reinforcements in order to deal with the influx of procedures.
Experienced police officers
The objective of the police is to respond to the ever-increasing number of requests. Do islanding, be present as close as possible to the population, fight against petty and medium crime, deal points, etc. The officers assigned this Thursday already have a rich professional background in public security and should therefore not take too long to get to the heart of the matter.
