Norway has contributed to the gang when Pakistan has been in need. We must do the same now.

“Pakistan needs help”, I said in front of the crown prince in 2010. I could give the same speech today.
This is a Si ;D post. Opinions in the text are the responsibility of the writer. Posts can send hits.
In 2010, Pakistan became affected by floods. Millions of people were affected, 1,600 people died and almost one fifth of the country was under water.
At that time, a torchlight procession was organized, where, among others, the Norwegian Red Cross was organized. There also participated Crown Prince Haakon. At that time I was five years old.
The reason I remember it so well is because during this event I gave one of my first speeches. 12 years later, I remember that speech just as well:
“Dear Crown Prince Haakon and dear everyone: Pakistan needs help. It is important that we contribute.” Now, 12 years later, I ask for the same.
Framing crookedly
These days Pakistan is hit by a flood crisis. This time, 33 million people have been displaced by floods. 1000 people have lost their lives. The country’s authorities have even declared it national state of crisis. This flood has hit more, wider and harder than before. It has affected children, parents and the elderly.
Many of the families affected by the flood are already poor. Among them there are girls who had to leave school because of the family’s finances. Children who have to start working to make ends meet. Parents who have to go to sleep hungry in order to feed their children and the elderly.
The flood hits so crookedly, and it hits so unfairly.
Norwegian history
But as mentioned, it is not the first time that Pakistan has been hit by such a cruel crisis. In 2010, the then government stepped in and increased its support for Pakistan as well NOK 400 million.
Five years earlier, in 2005, Pakistan was hit by an earthquake that caused enormous damage and claimed many lives. Then the government and then Prime Minister Kjell Magne Bondevik (KrF) were also quick on the ball. They took responsibility and granted NOK 300 million extra for relief work in Pakistan.
Now the country is in a similar crisis, and if we look back at our history, Norway has contributed to the gang when Pakistan has been in need. What I want the government to do this time too. That Norway shows that we are there for the innocent people who have lost everything they own and are happy with.
It is the least we as fellow human beings can do. Because as I said in 2010: Pakistan needs help. We have to contribute.
