The former leader of Basic Finns said that the monument would be a strong statement for Ukraine’s defense struggle against the Russian war of aggression.
Chairman of the Parliament’s Foreign Affairs Committee, Jussi Halla-aho (The Finns) tweeted on Tuesday that during his week-long trip to Ukraine, he had the idea to buy a destroyed Russian tank and erect it as a memorial near the Russian Embassy in Helsinki.
The former chairman of Purusfinnishen said that the tank could be transported from Ukraine to Finland, and he added that he had already discussed the matter in Ukraine and saw no obstacles to the project.
“I think it would be a good stand for Ukraine’s defense struggle and against Russia’s war of aggression,” he told Yle, noting that the project was “a question of the political will and legislative readiness of the property manager.” I.”
Poland and the Czech Republic have both publicly displayed Russian tanks destroyed in Ukraine, Halla-aho added.
Halla-aho recently visited Ukraine with members of the Foreign Affairs Committee of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania, during which the group met representatives of the Ukrainian administration, media, civil society and ordinary civilians.
