– 4 for the San Marino GP in Misano: is there a lack of rivalry in MotoGP? #lanotiziainprimafila – MotoGP
Quartararo-A.Espargaro-Bagnaia: these three drivers are fighting for the title. The sporting challenge is exciting with three riders and three bikes with very different characteristics, but off the track there is great respect between all the protagonists. Is this the limit of today’s MotoGP?

–4 at Misano: Friday free practice day for the San Marino GP. There are many interesting aspects: if Bagnaia has won the fourth consecutive raceit would be something historic and very important for the championship; what will Quartararo do on this track? According to Vinales, a Misano, Aprilia can return to the podium. And, it’s safe to bet, Enea Bastianini and Jorge Martin they will do everything to result, respectively, that Ducati did well to choose him for 2023 or that he did poorly.
In short, there are many reasons for interest on the track, but many argue that the decline in interest in MotoGP is also due to the lack of a true sporting and non-sporting rivalry. Indeed, rivalries have always been the spice of sport: Borg-McEnroe comes to mind in tennis; Pantani-Amstrong in cycling; the sensational one between Senna and Prost in F1. And many others. The world championship too, of course, is full of sensational rivalry: Rossi-Biaggi, Biaggi-Capirossi, Rossi-Marquez, Lorenzo-Pedrosa and many others.
Today, there is no such rivalry: the drivers respect each other a lot off the trackthere are never personal attacks, even in the case of a contact, like the one between Quartararo and A.Espargaro in Assen, you never lose control, everyone remains well within the limits.
Had such a thing happened in the past, thanks be sparkswe would go on for weeks talking only about that episode. This is what today’s MotoGP is missing? Should Fabio and Francesco be more extreme in their off-track behavior? In my opinion, no.
