The everyday charging of e-car drivers – Liechtenstein
VADUZ – Electricity charging could soon become cheaper for Liechtenstein e-drivers. A survey shows how practical or tedious charging at the socket is.
For more and more people in Liechtenstein, the e-car is a realistic alternative to the combustion engine. Every second new car registered in Liechtenstein in 2021 has an electric or hybrid drive. In June 2022 it was already around 60 percent. In order for e-mobility to prevail in the long term, an appropriate infrastructure is required. The Liechtensteinische Kraftwerke (LKW) take care of that. Martin Beck is the Deputy Division and Project Manager for Alternative Energies at LKW. “The frequency of use, i.e. how often the charging stations are used, shows that there is currently no need to expand the infrastructure.”
The trucks will continue to promote electromobility. At the Lihga trade fair in Schaan in September, they will present an exclusive Liechtenstein charging card for their customers. With this charging card, Liechtenstein citizens who have a contract with LKW should in future be able to charge their electric vehicles at an “attractive price”.
This is how e-drivers see the charging infrastructure
But how do e-car drivers see the status of the charging station infrastructure? Whether it’s a toilet for waiting time or charging options at work: Despite the simple satisfaction with the number of charging stations, they have suggestions for improving e-mobility in the Principality.
