GRAND AVIGNON Guided tours, walks: upcoming tourist events
The start of the new school year is approaching, but the schedule of tourist events from the Grand Avignon tourist office remains full. Update on upcoming events.
With Fort Saint-André or the Chartreuse, Villeneuve has many monuments to discover. To do this as well as possible, Vincent Pasquinelli, who has been offering the Noctambules d’Avignon for a few years, is setting up visits to Villeneuve this summer. In particular a night visit every Wednesday at 9.30 p.m. until the end of August and at 9 p.m. until the end of September, but also daytime visits every Monday, Wednesday and Thursday at 9 a.m., and Tuesdays at 8 a.m. hours and at 10 a.m., in groups of no more than ten people. Reservations on the Noctambules website and on that ofAvignon tourism.
Direction the Saint-André abbey, in the heart of the fort of the same name which overlooks the cardinal city. Guided tours of the abbey palace and its gardens continue until September 29 on Thursdays at 11 a.m. with a tour guide. And the yoga sessions in partnership with Inspire Yoga Avignon also continue on Saturdays at 10 a.m., reservations withInhale Yoga. The abbey and its gardens remain open every day except Monday.
If you prefer a good walk in the forest, the tourist office and the association 2000 pattes offer the Balade des Bouscatiers on September 5 at 9 am. A free walk to discover the forest area of Rochefort-du-Gard and the bouscatiers, who lived in the forest where they made charcoal. The walk is 4 kilometers long and will last two hours, reservation strongly recommended on 04 90 03 70 60, meeting place de la République in Rochefort.
Also note that visits to Castelas, still in Rochefort, continue, as in Villeneuve the musical visits of Time Regained on the first Sunday of each month, canoe trips in Roquemaure every Tuesday and Thursday at 9 a.m. until August 31 (so there remains that of Tuesday), or even rides on scooters and electric bikes in Villeneuve and on the island of Barthelasse at 2:30 p.m. until September 30.
