Sweden, who were in eighth place at the start of the second round of this world championship for amateur teams, did everything to take control of the event. 2021 European Women’s Champion and World No. 2 Ingrid Lindblad crushed the competition on the 2018 Ryder Cup course to score -8 after 12 holes, the Swede shot an outstanding 66 (-5) and signed the best score of the tournament on the albatross, this performance makes it possible for the Scandinavian team to climb to pole position at -9.
Leaders the day before, the Americans still managed to maintain their second place at -7, which they share with the Germans. Fourth at -6, the Japanese, second playing partner to the French, recorded the best score of the day on the course of the Lancôme Trophy, with a solid card of -6.
For the French women, the transition from the Albatross to the Red Track was not without difficulty. By their own admission, they had difficulty adjusting to greens with significantly more grain and more slopes on the side of Saint-Nom. But, especially with the support of Catherine Lacoste personally on the edge of the pitch, they reacted collectively to the return to manage to limit the damage. They ended up posting the same score as in the first round (+1), maintaining their 13th place in the table.
Present in the first 30 teams after two rounds, the French will play a third round at Golf National, before a fourth and final, Saturday, in Saint-Nom-la-Bretèche.
