What do you wonder about electricity and finances? – NRK Norway – Overview of news from different parts of the country
Marie Hauso:
Should I bind the Lånekassen interest rate for the next few years or keep it floating?
Jorge Jensen, professional director at the Consumer Council:
Hi Marie. You must apply to bind the interest in Lånekassa and the next time it is open for applications is 10-17. October. The advantages of tying the rent are that it can be canceled and you can protect yourself against rent encroachments for up to 10 years in the future. As of today, there are still low interest rates in the loan fund. The “floating” interest rate is currently 1.815%. The fixed rate will be above that, but in any case there is – in a historical context – a low level of rent in the loan fund. It is unlikely that the floating interest rates will decrease in the near future. Therefore, the risk of tying the interest rate is also small. I think many people should consider binding rent now.
