Murore Claudio Poleschi owner of the historic gallery
He died today, aged 73, Claudio Poleschiowner of the historic gallery active in Lucca from 1973 to 2018, which in 2021 had moved its headquarters to San Marino.
Tuscan of origin, Poleschi has created in his gallery, over the years, a series of collaborations with illustrious personalities of the contemporary scene and important exhibitions dedicated to national and international artists, from Jannis Kounellis to Osvaldo Licini, from Julian Shnabel to Gino de Dominicis.
In addition to the exhibition activity, Claudio Poleschi, together with Maurizio Fontanini and with the collaboration of Fabio Cavallucci, in 2019, had founded and launched Sharing of artthe online platform dedicated to the sale of works of art which, in recent years, has become an established reality in the collecting sector.
Currently, the gallery owner was preparing to welcome in the space of San Marino on 17 September, on the occasion of the European Heritage Days, dedicated to sustainable heritage, the exhibition Altana by Stefano Arienti. A widespread project consisting of three site specific interventions carried out in important public institutional museums for contemporary art – the National Gallery, the Cisterns of Palazzo Pubblico and the former Il Montale Railway Gallery.
During the lockdown period, Poleschi never stopped his activity but continued to support traditional use, from life, aware of the changes in the art market but faithful to the experience of the gallery in presence.
