By the end of the year, Ukraine will fulfill all seven recommendations of the European Commission
The deputy head of the President’s Office, Ihor Zhovkva, said that all the requirements of the seven recommendations, which the European Commission provided to Ukraine, will be fulfilled by the end of the year.
He said about this on briefingreports Ukrinform.
Zhovkva noted that “Ukraine does not stop doing its homework regarding the implementation of the remaining half-recommendations for the transition to a new stage of our progress to the European Union.”
“Almost half of the work is done. To date, among the new achievements that have been achieved over the past week, the appointment of two members of the Supreme Council of Justice, the completion of work on draft laws on mass media and national communities have been noted. Moreover, this draft law has already been seen by the European Commission and we have received a number of comments, which we are working on,” concluded Zhovkva.
He also informed that the Verkhovna Rada has registered a draft law on the principles of the goodness of judges to the Constitutional Court of Ukraine.
“This is also one of the recommendations that we need to implement. Therefore, we have every reason to say that, together with the preservation of such dynamics, all seven recommendations that the European Commission provided to Ukraine will be provided, which will be implemented, as instructed by the President, by the end of the year. And Ukraine will have every chance to move to the next stage – the stage of starting negotiations on Ukraine’s membership in the European Union,” Zhovkva emphasized.
As reported by Ukrinform, on June 23, the heads of states and governments of the European Union adopted a decision to grant Ukraine the status of a candidate country for EU membership. This status is granted without conditions, but some recommendations of the European Commission must be fulfilled.
