For a strong desire and message to the rival teams and to give a great conquest to their fans, the San Marino club intends to conquer the third success in its history against the Romagna team after those obtained last season (1-0 at the go, on the occasion of the “First time” for the biancazzurri at the San Marino Stadium in Serravalle, and 1-0 also in the return leg, with Victor celebrating at the end of the match at the “Bucci” stadium the 2nd place in group C of the Excellence Emilia Romagna and access at the regional playoffs).
We at Libertà.sm, for the new episode of our weekly column on Victor San Marinowe interviewed Alex Ambrosini, high-quality Italian striker and from this year also captain of the biancazzurri.
Alex, what does it mean for you to be part of Victor San Marino for another season and, what’s more, as captain?
“It is definitely a pride to be part of this team again. I was very keen to dare to continue last year’s choice and had nothing else in mind, apart from Victor. The captain’s armband is a responsibility, but I will be the same as always trying to be a guide and an example for the youngest, as I have always done ”.
How do you judge the performance of the team in the preseason?
“The pre-season was good, we put in a lot of physical work and a lot of new concepts. We have a coach, Stefano Cassani, who is very prepared who immediately conveyed his ideas. The performances were a crescendo of organization and mentality of the new coach. The path has been gradual and we are on the right path, but we will never have to reduce our guard because from next Sunday they will start counting the 3 points ”.
Compared to last year, the Victor San Marino a longer and more complicated championship of Excellence. How should the whole team behave and what objective can they aim for?
“It will be a much tougher championship than last year, both physically and, above all, mentally. Many games to play, it will take mentality and the ability to know how to manage the moments of the season. Last year has us so much, we never gave up even when we looked dead and in the end we were paid off. The goal is always to aim for the maximum and, realistically, I think we have a duty to aim for the first places, with humility and without creating unnecessary pressures, for technical quality and corporate structure “.
On the last Sunday of August you will face the Russi within the friendly walls of the Acquaviva Stadium. What can this first league match represent for Victor San Marino?
“The match against the Russians is definitely a stimulating start for us. Personally, I’m happy with this because we need attention at the highest levels being an opponent who certainly starts among those who can aspire to the first places. Let’s start where we got it last year, where an unexpected battle got won. This year can be the momentum for a very long season start. All the more reason, playing at home, we will try to attack the game immediately. It would be the best to start on the right foot and I am convinced that we will be very ready ”.
Would you prefer to become the top scorer in Group B but without being able to bring Victor to D or win promotion to the Amateurs, scoring a few goals?
“Clearly the team comes first and the answer is obvious: as always, I will give everything for the team and I will try to put my qualities and my experience at the service of the team. But I’m sure things will go hand in hand ”.
