The Rocca Pietore Colony and the Tourism Theater among the government projects. The secretary Canti also announces the projects to make the highway safe and the expansion of the Torraccia airfield
In the press conference, the Secretary to the Territory, Stefano Cantipresented the “Safe roads” project to improve the safety of the roads of the Republic.
“The project will be outlined in three phases – explains Canti – a training phase, a regulation and an executive one”. For the first phase, he adds, as early as next month he will participate, together with Aaslp executives and some sector managers, in Milan at the worldwide event “Surf 2022” where senior executives will present the types of the latest road pavements, to adopt the new technologies, “to avoid – he underlines – various critical issues that are present today”. As regards the regulatory phase, he continues, “politics, through collaboration with the Milan Polytechnic, will have to adopt a regulatory framework in the coming months to lay the foundations for the executive phase. The third phase, the definitive one, will see the first interventions as early as September “. Particular attention will be paid to the Superstrada, he explains, with the start of the roundabout experimentation in the Tavolucci pool area, and a pilot project at Customs to understand if this experimentation can be applied to make the Superstrada safe.
The Secretary then explained that the update of the operational plan was presented at the Congress. Several points were touched upon, first of all the preliminary design of the parking lot in the Baldasserona area. “300 new parking spaces will be built with little money – he underlines – and the areas reserved for campers will be well defined. The connection with the cable car is foreseen and the connection from the car park to Borgo and, via the train, in the historic center of the city is planned ”.
Also on the table of the Congress was the extension of the Torraccia airfield runway, with the study by the piano technicians of expropriations.
Another project included in the update of the operational plan is the recovery of the City Cinema Tourism. “We have entrusted the designer – announced the Secretary of State for the Territory, Stefano Canti – to carry out in a short time the study of the final project for the restoration of a building that is currently closed and not usable by the citizens”. To our question, Canti explained that it will be a multifunctional building, and that it will no longer function as a cinema, but as an auditorium for the University and to implement the country’s theatrical activities.
He then concludes with the project concerning the former colony of Rocca Pietore: an agreement is being reached with the Ocsa – Opera Cattolica San Marino assistance – owner of the property, for the assets to the Excellent Chamber. The building will then be demolished and, explained Canti, “if an agreement is reached with private investors, we will rebuild the building to be usable for summer activities, because the project is to guarantee San Marino children the opportunity to return to Rocca Pietore “.
