Meetings of the Kyiv Initiative are held monthly online
The format was created together with the neighboring countries of Europe, as well as the Baltic countries. The main goal is security consultations.
Ukraine, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Poland, Romania, Slovakia and Hungary united in the format of the Kyiv initiative to discuss challenges in the field of security. Andriy Yermak, the head of the President’s Office, will conclude on Monday, August 22.
“The goal of the Kyiv initiative is to coordinate our efforts. First of all, on security issues. We talked about the continuation of sanctions pressure, about the future security guarantee for Ukraine,” he plans.
Consultations are accepted on an ongoing basis – once a month in video format. It is also planned to expand the circle of participants of the initiative.
“This format is considered as a platform for discussing common security challenges for the region of Central and Eastern Europe in the conditions of Russian aggression and against Ukraine,” the OP reported.
Employees of the heads of states and governments of the peninsula took part in the meeting.
According to the results of the meeting, Yermak said that military “support is not reduced, but additionally increased.”
“We need to show this victory with our Armed Forces. Today we received the full support of our partners in providing support to the Armed Forces,” he said.
Earlier, Yermak concluded that the Ukrainian authorities are conducting negotiations primarily on security guarantees with such countries as the USA, Great Britain, France, Germany, Italy, Poland, Turkey and Australia.
