Stopped on the way into Norway: – Perhaps the worst thing I have seen
The Polish passenger car was on its way into Norway at the border crossing in Ørje on the night of Friday last week, when it was stopped by customs officials.
They obviously reacted more to the car itself, than what was inside it. The customs officials notified the Norwegian Road Administration that this was a car they should take a closer look at.
It was The daily newspaper Demokraten who first wrote about this:
No prayer
– I asked them to send pictures first. Afterwards, there was no doubt that we had to take a closer look at the car. And I can say that it is a long time between each time we see such bad vehicles. Perhaps the worst I have seen, says head of department Øyvind Grotterød in the Norwegian Public Roads Administration The daily newspaper Demokraten.
You must remove this – before the car is damaged
Check every year
After the mandatory inspection of all cars – also known as the EU inspection – was introduced, it is relatively rare to come across cars with serious rust damage in traffic. During the inspection, a number of points related to safety and the environment are checked. For example, rust, exhaust gas emissions, noise – and braking effect.
If there is rust that could affect safety, the car will be rejected and must be repaired before a new inspection.
In Poland, all passenger cars must otherwise be subject to an annual inspection. What was the status of this car in the connection is not known.
