Portugal is no longer on alert due to fires next Wednesday
The Government announced this Monday that it will not extend the alert situation due to the fires that hit mainland Portugal.

After the meeting, which started at 7:00 pm and was attended by the Minister of Internal Administration and the Secretary of State for Civil Protection, the disclosure was announced at a press conference.
“A more pleasant coastline is also expected, which can vary up to 3% and up to 80%. Which means one like we haven’t had since the beginning of the forest fire phase”, within this framework, the Minister of Internal Administration, José Luís Carneiro, in Press conference.
“In light of this ministerial framework of tomorrow, we understand that it was possible to improve the meaning, we understand that it is possible to prevent the problems of the situation and the future does not prolong: [terça-feira].”

José Luís Carneiro also reveals that the National Emergency and Civil Protection Authority “will maintain orange alert tomorrow in 16 districts and on the 24th in five districts, particularly in the northern and central interior districts”.
Portugal entered this Sunday at 00:00, on alert due to the “aggravation of the risk of rural fire and the increase in temperatures, after weeks with fires that, in Serra da Estrela alone, destroyed more than 28 thousand hectares. The measure, now extended, ended this tuesday.
In a situation of alert, it was necessary to circulate or remain on the forest paths, which are previously provided for in the Municipal Plans for the Defense of the Forest Against Fire, as well as on the forest, rural paths and other ways that the paths, burn or work in forest spaces using through the type of machinery, with the exception of any having to do with firefighting.
