Navy monitors oil trafficking activity in Portugal
In the operational monitoring that operates to the maritime space of national interest, the Center for Maritime Operations of the Navy suspects an oil tanker, which originated a pair, within the waters under national movement.

The oil tanker claimed that his main engines were malfunctioning and that he needed a few hours to arrive at the port, stating that he was awaiting instructions from the company on the destination.
the ship was warned that Portugal, under the United Nations Convention, does not authorize refueling within the National Exclusive Economic Zone, as they provide a potential for the occurrence of United Nations on the risk of sea. After a few hours, the ship started sailing and is currently leaving the EEZ of mainland Portugal.
The development, through the Portuguese Navy, guarantees compliance with the laws in maritime spaces under jurisdiction or national State, so it does not allow the development of this type of activities in the national EEZ.
