Explosions in Crimea: Ukraine has shaken the confidence of the Russian Federation in the defense of the peninsula – ISW
Strikes by the Armed Forces of Ukraine against the military facilities of the Russian Federation in the temporarily occupied territories shook the Russians’ confidence in the protection of the rear areas.
Concern among the occupiers borders on panic, exactly in a report by the American Institute for the Study of War (ISW) on August 19.
“Crimean Telegram channels reported the sounds of explosions in various areas of the temporarily occupied peninsula, in particular at the Belbek airfield and near the bridge over the Kerch Strait. These messages came out inflated and enlarged, which showed a broad package of Russia,” the ISW expert cites on August 18 as an example.

Russian “military bloggers” even began to suggest that in both cases (in Sevastopol and in Kerch – Gazeta.ua) the Ukrainian military carried out “combat reconnaissance” in order to check the readiness of anti-aircraft and anti-missile defenses to repel a massive strike.
In the evening of August 18, at least four explosions rang out near the temporarily occupied Sevastopol in the Ukrainian Crimea. The explosions are located on the territory of Belbek airport, where there is a lot of military equipment of the occupiers.
In the city of Kerch, which is temporarily occupied by the Russians, there were also explosions on Thursday evening. The occupiers said that the air defense system was allegedly not working.
this week, explosions rang out in the village of Azovske near Dzhankoy in occupied Crimea. There is an airfield where the Russian invaders have concentrated attack helicopters and other military equipment. Explosions also rang out at the air base of the Russian occupiers in the village of Gvardiyske. Su-24M and Su-25SM aircraft were at the air base.
Last week, explosions occurred near the village of Novofedorivka in Crimea. The 43rd Fighter Aviation Regiment of the Russian Air Force was stationed there. Its correspondence includes Su-30SM, Su-33 and Su-24M bombers.
