Ardeche. A mobilization on August 28 to celebrate the passage of Occitan trains in Teil
This Sunday August 28, the Occitanie region will inaugurate the reopening of the right bank of the Rhône between Avignon (Vaucluse) and Pont-Saint-Esprit (Gard).
From Monday August 29, four daily round trips will be chartered between these two stations, pending the full reopening in 2024 between Pont-Saint-Esprit and Nîmes, with service to all stations.
These trains will come to make their U-turn in Ardèche, in Teil, empty for the moment. But the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region has finally decided on the possibility of using them from the beginning of 2024, due to the work necessary to secure the station, before the complete reopening between Romans and Le Teil in 2026.
“It is therefore the prospect of a reopening between Romans and Nîmes that we can hope for in 2026”, indicates the collective of public transport users in South-Ardèche (CUTPSA). “In the meantime, the Ardèche population will have to remain mobilized, so that this project actually sees the light of day and that, initially, we can take the train from Le Teil to Avignon as soon as possible. »
Sunday, August 28, the collective organizes a big picnic in front of the station, from 11:30 a.m., to celebrate the arrival of the Occitan trains in Teil. With the program: a time of exchange to know the needs of users (schedules, services, facilities), in the presence of elected officials.
