The horror on Slovak railways continued on Friday. Passengers were stuck in the tunnel for two hours
After the express train broke down in the field near Ladco on Thursday, normal activities continued on the railways on Friday as well. One of the passengers stopped that this time she was taking the train through the last railway tunnel on the route from Banská Bystrica to Vrútok. People were stuck here without mala for two hours.
It was an express train that leaves Banská Bystrica at 9:34 a.m. “The train had a breakdown in the tunnel from which it was impossible to exit. The train was full of people, there were many seniors and small children in it. We didn’t get any official information about what was going to be given, we didn’t even have a signal. One guide had to contact the headquarters by walking to the nearest place from which he could call for help,” passenger Jana wrote to us.
She added that all people managed it, but such situations should not happen. “Mainly the provision of information. I hope that the number of such disturbances will not only be hushed up, but that it will also have to bear responsibility,” she added.
The spokesman of the Slovakian Railway Company (ZSSK), Tomáš Kováč, confirmed that the locomotive of express 944 broke down in the morning on this section. “He stood in the tunnel for approximately 110 minutes. Then they brought a replacement, who towed the set to Harmanac, where they got on the second train. We are disappointed by the situation,” she said in the statement.
