The Swedish Migration Agency has revealed in one of its latest reports that a total of 10,910 residence permits were granted in June.
According to the Swedish Migration Agency, residence permits issued in July brought the total number of permits issued in the first seven months of 2022 to 99,437, reports SchengenVisaInfo.com.

- EU/EEA – 4,468
- Studies – 9,870
- Obstacles to enforcement – 434
Recently, the Swedish government introduced new rules for work permit holders who applied for an extension in June.
The new rules contain several criteria that must be met, including the presentation of an employment contract, a valid passport and sufficient proof of income.
The Migration Agency explained that in order for citizens of other countries to be able to obtain a work permit, they must have an employment contract signed by the employer, which must also be translated into English.
The person applying for a work permit must also, in addition to the above, also have health, life, employment and pension insurance from the employment.
Nevertheless, the same rules do not apply to all applicants because they depend on the occupation of the person applying for a work permit.
Previously, SchengenVisaInfo.com reported that immigration to Sweden was more affected than emigration. The data from the State Treasury, Statistics Sweden, show that a decrease in the number of immigrants was noted in April and May 2020.
It was revealed that something like this happened because of the impact covid-19 has in Sweden. The latter was the most common country of birth among immigrants in 2020 and 2021.
The most common countries of birth among people born in the Nordics/EU countries who immigrated to Sweden in 2021 were Germany, Poland, Finland, Denmark, Romania and Norway.
