work resumes, rue Thiers closed again
Work to redevelop rue Thiers resumes at the beginning of August, Monday to Friday from 7 a.m. to noon and from 12:45 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Until August 26, traffic is prohibited between the streets of Amphoux and Philonarde-Sain.
Shops remain open, deliveries are maintained, but it is impossible for you to drive in both directions between rue de l’Olivier and rue Amphoux, unlike the first phase of work where traffic was maintained on one lane. Persons with reduced mobility who do not have a vehicle must also adapt their itinerary, passing by rue Saïn then place Pignotte in order to reach place Pie.
Circular comment?
If you want to go to Les Halles from the entrance of Porte Thiers, don’t panic, the City has thought of it. Vehicles can proceed as far as the Philonarde-Saïn crossroads but will be diverted to the left onto rue Philonarde. They can then continue on rue des Lices, or, if they want to go to the Les Halles car park, turn right just before rue des Lices in the direction of rue Bonneterie. Then, towards the back of Les Halles and finally Rue Petite Meuse.
To get out of the car park, the route is the same. The exit is therefore towards rue Pétramale, Magnanen, and the exit from the ramparts. Be careful, because rue Paul-Saïn is inverted, so it is no longer possible to go up it from rue Thiers. Vehicles are diverted via Place Pignotte.
Also note that between Friday August 26th and Friday September 16th, rue Thiers will be open again. But only on a half-floor, because the road surfaces will be made in two parts. Rue Thiers, between the Philonarde-Saïn crossroads and rue d’Amphoux, will be trafficable from the south on a single lane. Rue Paul-Saïn remained inverted with a load shedding towards Place Pignotte, it can no longer be taken from Rue Thiers.
