First puncture to a young woman in Andorra
The Policia d’Andorra investigates the complaint of a young woman who suffered a puncture this Tuesday while she was partying and who was treated at the Nostra Senyora de Meritxell Hospital in Escaldes-Engordany.
The spokesman for the Government of Andorra and Minister of Finance, Enric Jover, has detailed in a press conference this Wednesday that the girl did not experience symptoms after the puncture and that the samples that were taken in the hospital are being analyzed, according to a statement from the Andorran Executive.
In fact, this Wednesday the Andorran Government has made a new protocol on how to act in the event of a puncture suspicion: victims must receive help “from the first moment” and the police must be notified, who will contact the medical emergencies.
“In any suspicion of puncture, the police carry out the corresponding investigations to find the perpetrators, so it is very important that all cases are reported,” stressed Jover, who has condemned this practice and has asked not to leave alone to victims in case they become dizzy or faint.
Following the protocol, the medical services will transfer the victim to the hospital, where they will test him to see if he has been exposed to any contagion and a toxicological test to determine if he has been inoculated with any substance.
The Lilac Code will also be activated –for cases of gender-based violence– to offer psychological, social and legal assistance to the victims and to monitor the case.
