Banco de Portugal authorizes more than five thousand credit intermediaries in six months
Banco de Portugal (BdP) received 8,024 requests from credit intermediaries in July, from January 2018 to 31 July, of which 5,908 were approved, the financial supervisor announced this Wednesday.
“Until July 31, 2022, 8,024 requests from the author had been received, of which 88 were, on that day, under analysis by Banco de Portugal. 5,908 authorization requests were approved and 2,028 were refused”, reads information made available today on the central bank’s portal.
In turn, in July, 47 requests were received, 42 were approved and seven were rejected.
Banco de Portugal is, in January 2018, responsible for the authority and correspondent or registered of all legal persons that intend to exercise collective credit activities.
“After the plaintiff’s request for the exercise of Mário Centenary’s intermediary activity.
If you authenticate yourself at the request of registration, that is, the irregular request is notified to compensate, a circumstance that, if verified, can take up to 180 days for the examination.
“After the has authority, the credit intermediary must be registered. This registration is, as a rule, officially promoted from Portugal within 30 days of authorization”, he concluded.
