Wolves keen to sign Ludovic Ajorque
Wolves are keen to sign Strasbourg striker Ludovic Ajorque but are not the only ones showing an interest, according to Sky Sports News man Kaveh Solhekol.
The Lowdown: New Striker Wanted
The start of the new Premier League season is just days away, with Bruno Lage’s side traveling to Leeds United on Saturday afternoon.
Wolves look light in attack heading into the 2022/23 campaign after loaning out Fabio Silva, and their current situation has not been helped by a long-term injury to star striker Raul Jimenez.
It’s crucial that another strong marksman arrives during the remainder of the summer transfer window and it looks like Wanderers are now pushing for that to happen.
The latest: Wolves linked to Ajorca move
speaking on Sky Sports NewsSolhekol claimed Wolves are among a host of clubs keen to sign Ajorque:
“A player we could hear a lot more about in the coming weeks played against Liverpool for Strasbourg at the weekend.
“He’s a striker called Ludovic Ajorque, a 6ft 6in striker with a very good goalscoring record for them, is available for £18million.
“I was told the clubs who watched him yesterday were Wolves, Everton, Leicester, West Ham, Fulham, Nottingham Forest, Bournemouth and Newcastle. He’s someone we may hear a lot more about. .
The Verdict: Write It Down
Ajorque has the potential to be an intriguing signing for Wolves if they secure an £18million deal down the line, with the French giants labeled as ‘physically stupid‘ by Daily Express writer Alessandro Schiavone, who questioned why no one had tried to sign the target man in the past.
He registered 20 goals involved in Ligue 1 last season (12 goals and 8 assists) and has scored 50 times for Strasbourg in total, with his current contract expiring in 2024.
Ajorque’s imposing physique could be the perfect foil for Wolves’ quicker wingers, allowing them to provide him with ammunition, while at 28 he would represent a younger alternative to Jimenez.
