3rd league: FC Viktoria Köln now has an eSports department.
Of the FC Viktoria Cologne climbs into the eSports one, concentrating on the
football simulation FIFA by EA Sports. As in analogue football, Viktoria is actively committed to
the youth work. To keep interested people informed about the eSports department
and to be able to display attractive content, own Viktoria eSport channels will be available on the
created social media.
Axel Freiwinkel: “By entering eSports, we are opening up a new and unused business area. The supra-regional appearance, the national perception and the accessibility of a young target group should strengthen our brand. This project endorses our social and digital engagement next to the soccer field. We look forward to immersing ourselves in the emerging world of eSports together with the Academy of eSports.”
The Academy of eSports takes over the holistic advice and execution of the Viktoria eSport activities. The Academy of eSports was founded by two former “FIFA veterans” Erhan Kayman and Marvin Hintz. For over a decade, the synonyms “Dr. Erhano” and “M4RV” have been part of the community and know what content FIFA enthusiasts demand.
In addition to strategic support, the Academy of eSports will scout the talents and then promote them with training sessions.
