San Marino. The ISS will be able to hire specialized doctors
From tomorrow, Wednesday 3 August, the Social Security Institute will be able to hire medical specialists.
This is a rule introduced with the Law Decree n.111 / 2022 which allows for the stipulation of agreements with universities for the recruitment of doctors undergoing specialization, provided that they are enrolled at least in the third year of the Specialty School.
The trainee therefore, as is already the case in Italy, will be able to remain enrolled in the specialization and at the same time place their health activities also in the ISS structures, receiving the relative remuneration and maturing the achievement of the training, theoretical and assistance activities necessary to achieve the objectives of study foreseen by the relative specialization cycle.
“This is a normative provision – explains the Secretary of State for Health, Roberto Ciavatta – which now allows this possibility, already consolidated in Italy, to be represented by the ISS, as a further signal of the evolution of the reforms relating to healthcare for our citizens, increasing the level of competitiveness of our healthcare“.
“I thank the Excellency Regency, the Government and in particular the Secretary of State for Health – says the ISS General Manager, Francesco Bevere – for having quickly grasped an imperative need, as is already the case in most Italian hospitals. The new legislation available makes it possible to guarantee and improve the quality of care of San Marino citizens, being able to rely today on medical specialists, who tomorrow will be the future specialists of the State Hospital. For this reason, agreements with Italian universities have already been started in order to make this new opportunity for the ISS operational as soon as possible “.
