BYD announces electric cars coming to Germany and Sweden in the fourth quarter of 2022
Just ten days after announcing its entry into the Japanese market, Build Your Dreams (BYD) has followed up plans to sell passenger electric cars in Germany and Sweden as well. As part of a new partnership with European dealer group Hedin Mobility, BYD expects to start delivering electric cars in the new EU countries before the end of the year.
BYD Auto is an automotive subsidiary of BYD Co. Ltd. which currently operates as one of the largest car manufacturers in China. Only in 2021, BYD produced over 320,000 BEVs, second in the nation to only SAIC. The company recently reported sales of over 641,000 cars in the first half of 2022 alone.

These commercial vehicles in particular have already found success outside of China, particularly buses in North America and Europe. Back on the passenger side of EVs, BYD already launched its Tang EV in Norway back in 2020, but seems to be expanding its global reach faster than so far.
Earlier this month, the Chinese automaker announced plans to enter the Japanese market That launch will include a sales start of the Atto-3 in January, followed by the BYD Seal and Dolphin in mid-2023.
Now, just over a week later, BYD has announced further expansion to sell more passenger cars in Europe, with deliveries to begin before doing so in Japan.
