Venice Film Festival 2022, Tenderstories co-producer of three films in competition
“It is an honor to be present and we thank the president Roberto Cicutto and the artistic director Alberto Barbera of the Venice Biennale International Film Festival. We will be in competition – he explains Moreno Zani, Founder of Tenderstories – with three important and ambitious films that play on different registers: dramatic, ironic, with references to contemporary and historical reality with the take from a real event. The movie “the Lord of the ants” – “The Lord of the ants” is directed by Gianni Amelio with Luigi LoCascio, Elio Germano, Leonardo Maltese, Sara Serraiocco and Anna Caterina Antonacci and will be released in cinemas on 8 September 2022. The film is inspired by real events and tells with a story with several voices a process that caused a sensation and that took place in Rome at the end of the 1960s. The playwright and poet Aldo Braibanti, accused of plagiarism, was sentenced to nine years of imprisonment for having submitted to his will a student and little friend more than age. A few years later, the crime of plagiarism was repealed by the penal code, however it served to indict the “different” of all kinds.
The movie “Bones and everything” – “Bones and all” is directed by Luca Guadagnino, with Taylor Russell, Timothée Chalamet, Michael Stuhlbarg, André Holland, Chloë Sevigny, David Gordon-Green, Jessica Harper, Jake Horowitz and Mark Rylance. “Bones and all” is the story of the first love between Maren, a girl who is learning to survive on the fringes of society, and Lee, a loner with a combative soul; it is the on the road journey of two young people who, in a continuous search for identity and beauty, try to find their place in a world full of dangers and who cannot tolerate their nature.
The movie “Amanda” – The film “Amanda”, in competition at “Orizzonti Extra” is directed by Carolina Cavalli with Benedetta Porcaroli, Galatea Bellugi, Giovanna Mezzogiorno, Michele Bravi, Monica Nappo and Margherita Missoni. The film tells of Amanda (Benedetta Porcaroli), 24, who has never had friends since she can remember her. That’s what she wants most. When she learns that as infants she and Rebecca (Galatea Bellugi) spent a lot of time together, Amanda chooses her new mission: to convince her that they are still best friends.
