In the province of Verona, companies looking for 7 thousand workers
Hiring is planned for the month of August, mainly a fixed-term contract for 7,260 employees in the tourism sector, in the trade and in that of anniversary sweets. That’s 1,290 more than in the same month last year. In 52 cases out of 100 companies expected to have difficulty finding the desired profiles, in July they were 41 out of 100. This is what emerges from the usual monthly magazine of the Excelsior Information System Chambers of Commerce. Half of the open positions relate to companies with fewer than 50 employees.
“The difficulty in finding staff was the leitmotif – he comments Paolo Artelio, member of the Board of the Verona Chamber of Commerce and president of the Destination Verona & Garda Foundation – of this tourist season. By August, it is estimated that our companies intend to hire 1,260 people in tourism, accommodation and catering services and another 1,000 businesses. Not without difficulty in finding. The two years of the pandemic have radically changed the dynamics of the labor market and thousands of workers of the most affected, tourism and related industries, have found employment in other sectors or benefit from citizenship income. They rolled up their sleeves and somehow managed to maintain a high standard of quality on offer, but it is undoubtedly a difficult season ”.
The most requested profiles
Another important demand for job positions comes from the food industry: in August the production campaigns for Christmas sweets, pandoro and panettone begins. 1,060 people are sought, mainly with fixed-term contracts. A total of 3,380 people are sought for tasks of production of goods or provision of services, in this field the difficulty of finding rises to 56%. Profiles related to they are commercial and sales1,110, those of logistics, 1,370, and those of design, 1,000.
The most requested profiles are those without school preparation. In 43% of cases no educational qualification is required, in 28% a high school diploma, in 19% a professional diploma and in only 9% of cases a university degree is sought. In 18% of cases, the expected income will be stable, with a permanent or apprenticeship contract, while in 82% they will be on a fixed-term basis (fixed term or other contracts with a predefined duration).
