Star crowds at the Salzburg Festival – Fashion and Beauty
After the premiere of “Ingolstadt” was postponed, the Vienna Philharmonic delighted the festival guests – including “Today”-Chef Eva Dichand.
It was a turbulent start in a turbulent time: after the whistling and booing concert for Federal President Alexander Van der Bellen at the opening of the Salzburg Festival, the premiere of the play “Ingolstadt” had to be postponed the following day. Six actors have been infected with SARS-CoV-2.

The top-class festival guests could look forward all the more to the first concert of the year by the Vienna Philharmonic with mezzo-soprano Elīna Garanča under conductor Christoph Thielemann in the Grosses Festspielhaus on Thursday evening – which was completely sold out.
“Have you seen my wife?”
In the hustle and bustle of around 2,500 guests, it’s easy to lose track – and the woman too. This is what happened with the car rental company Erich Sixt, who was responsible for the cheeky advertising slogans in his company, but who was quite at a loss shortly before the performance began: “Have you seen my wife where?” said to the waiting photographers.
After a while she was found and the Erich Sixt solo photo turned into the desired couple photo of the two festival regulars.
“Salzburg is the highlight”
Another regular German guest also celebrated a festival premiere today: Princess Gloria Thurn und Taxis. “I swam in the Wannsee in Berlin in the afternoon, then flew here and now I’ve finally reached my destination. Salzburg is the highlight of the summer, everything else is just a prelude,” said the princess, who last invited Anna Netrebko to a concert had to take a lot of criticism for her castle in Regensburg.
Among the guests was singer Rolando Villazon, less “princely” but in a good mood.“Today”-Boss Eva Dichand beamed in a creation by Valentino alongside her husband Christoph Dichand. The publishing couple was accompanied by the architect Maria Planegger and her husband, the Austrian entrepreneur Christian Planegger. Elisabeth Gürtler, author Dorothea Neumayr with her 101-year-old mother Maria Hoffmann, gallery owner Thadaeus Ropac and Danielle Spera will also listen to the Vienna Philharmonic.
