Gina Gyger wins gold and bronze

This start makes you want more: At the Alpencup in Innsbruck, the Solothurn junior Gina Gyger won the bronze medal in the three-position rifle 50m, prone gold. In the air pistol shooter Patrick Roggli qualified for the final and came eighth. In the mixed competition he wins silver together with Jessica Waeber. Last but not least there is gold and silver for the juniors in the team rankings.
Successful start to the Alpine Cup, which takes place in Innsbruck from July 28th to 30th and is considered one of the most important international competitions for young shooters: In the juniors, two qualified with Gina Gyger (583) and Marta Szabo (579). Swiss women for the final rifle 50m three positions. Jennifer Kocher (568) ranked 16th. In the final, 18-year-old Gyger showed strong nerves and won bronze. Szabo is seventh.
The overall very good performance of the Swiss rifle shooters was also rewarded with gold in the team ranking.
In the 50m rifle prone competition that followed, Gyger went one better: With 619.5 points, she left the competition behind and won gold. Marta Szabo is seventh with 616.7 points. Jennifer Kocher follows with 609.1 in 10th place, Audrey Gogniat scores 608.1 points.
The Swiss women also took silver with their rifles in the team classification (1836.7) and were only beaten by the French.
Four tenths separate Lars Allenbach from bronze
In the juniors, the grapes were too high for the jump into the top eight in the individual competition: The best Swiss shooter was Lars Allenbach (576) in 10th place, followed by Alexandr Chenikov (575) in 11th place and Silas Stadler (565) in 18th place .final place. In the team ranking, this achieved 4th place with a total of 1714 points.
Lars Allenbach placed 4th with the rifle 50m prone (616.1). Just four tenths is missing for bronze. Alexandr Chenikov is tenth (609), followed by Silas Stadler in 18th (595.3).
Silver for the Mixed Air Pistol Team
A Swiss athlete also got the pistol shooters to celebrate: Patrick Roggli scored 564 points, placed 6th and qualified for the final. Jannis Bader placed 10th with 558 points.
Jessica Waeber never really got going and ended up ninth at the bottom of the table with 550 points. In the final, Roggli finished eighth.
In the mixed competition things went better for Waeber. The start was still cautious (90), in the second end she improved significantly (95). Roggli shot consistently at 95 and 93. The total of 563 points ensures second place and entry into the gold medal match against the mixed duo from Italy. Gold was hard fought (16:14) – In the end the Italians were ahead, Roggli and Waeber take silver.
