Ukraine joins the OECD anti-bribery working group
The Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine supported the initiative to join Ukraine to the working body of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) – the Working Group on Combating Bribery in International Business Transactions, using he is on the Telegram channel on Tuesday.
“Today, the President’s Office held a working meeting on this issue. Ukraine’s entry into the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development will be a sign of trust in our country, which must be constantly strengthened,” he wrote.
Yermak mentions that “we strive to rebuild Ukraine after the war. For this we need a dynamic and harmonious economy. The fight against corruption and transparency is the way to success and trust of investors.”
“To achieve these goals, Ukraine joins the OECD working body – the Working Group on Combating Bribery in International Business Transactions,” he wrote.
This is, in particular, to “ensure the openness of the processes that play an important role in the post-war reconstruction of our state, increase trust, establish operational cooperation with representatives of foreign competent authorities to exchange information on current investigations, implement mechanisms that eliminate the risks of corruption in the post-war period, in particular” . by transnational corporations and during the provision of international aid”.
Based on the results of the work, a decision was made to create an interdepartmental working group, which corresponds to the coordination of actions regarding the implementation in Ukraine of the norms of the OECD Anti-Corruption Convention and other standards developed by the OECD Working Group and its working body – the secretariat.
