Tree on the Eisbach buckles
The storm on Tuesday only hit Munich marginally, but there was still damage. In the English Garden on the Eisbach, a tree had to be killed.
Munich – The sweltering heat (briefly) came to an end on Tuesday night with a thundering thunderstorm. A tree had to believe it on the Eisbach. He twisted his ankle near the Haus der Kunst and crashed into the Eisbach. According to the Bavarian Palaces and Lakes Administration, the growth called wingnut could be removed the next morning. In the English Garden and in the Nymphenburg Palace Park there was further, small, storm-related damage. While the thunderstorm only hit the state capital Munich fairly harmlessly, it really hit in and around Wolfratshausen.
Heavy thunderstorm in Wolfratshausen: woman is lucky in misfortune
The police there reported over 100 emergency calls because of the severe storm over Wolfratshausen, Münsing and Icking. In addition to numerous broken and uprooted trees, basements filled with water and house roofs were torn off. Parked trailers, signs and site fences were also blown away, endangering pedestrians and motorists. Because of a massive pavilion that was blown onto the tracks between Icking and Wolfratshausen, the S-Bahn had to interrupt its journey.
A woman in Wolfratshausen was lucky in misfortune: the storm tore a garden shed with it and hit the woman in Wolfratshausen on the arm. But she was only slightly injured. The police also had to record three traffic accidents. On the A95 in the Icking area, for example, trees had fallen onto the left lane. Leaves clogged the gullies, causing the roadway to be flooded. A driver skidded and crashed into the crash barrier. nba
