Free voters defend the construction of the second trunk line – Munich district
At its closed meeting in Ismaning, the state board of the Free Voters made a clear commitment to the construction of the second main line in the state capital. From the perspective of Nikolaus Kraus, 57, member of the Ismaningen state parliament, the second tunnel is “one of the most important issues” for the district of Munich massive delays, so that commissioning can be expected in 2037 at the earliest. Kraus says: “Even if the costs are many times higher than planned, the main route is necessary to cope with the commuter traffic from the greater Munich area.” In a few years, according to the farmer, nobody will ask about the costs if the users quickly reached their destination in the city.
However, Kraus also qualifies that, despite the necessity of building the second trunk line, other important construction projects for local public transport should not be neglected; In his view, this includes, above all, the expansion of previously single-track routes to two tracks and accessibility. “Do one thing and don’t neglect the other” is the credo of the Ismaninger. Kraus has been a member of the Bavarian state parliament for the Free Voters since 2013, and he was always elected from his party’s state list. It is assumed that the Ismaninger will apply again before the state election for the direct candidacy in the constituency Munich-Land North.
