Vodafone’s quarterly revenues rise 6.2% in Portugal | Telecommunications
Vodafone Portugal’s total revenues rose 6.2% in the first fiscal quarter ended in June, to 298 million euros, with service income growing 6.7%, to 275 million euros, announced this Monday the operator of telecommunications. The British company then has the first quarter of the fiscal year in the period from April to June, which will end in March of the following year.
In the period under review, the mobile segment of Vodafone Portugal recorded “a good performance, with the number of mobile customers totaling 4,668 million”, the operator said in a statement.
O fixed its positive performance at a constant pace in a very competitive environment, with respectively broadband base reaching 890 environments as of June 2022”, an increase of 7.3% in terms of final customers, “while the customer base of television reached 819 thousand (an increase of 7.3% annually)”.
In the quarter under review, Vodafone Portugal “continued to expand the presence of its state-of-the-art fiber across the country”, and at the end of June the FTTH network “covered 4.2 million homes and businesses, through its own network and of strategic partnerships”, he adds.
“The quarter due to uncertainty and volatility, markedly the result of inflationary pressure and the conflict in Ukraine, the good performance that it was possible to achieve in economic activity such as the growth of economic activity from the pandemic, as well as the growth of tourist activity, with Portugal being one of the main European destinations”, says the executive president of Vodafone Portugal, Mário Vaz, quoted in a statement.
On the other hand, “it reflects the recognition of the quality and our service in the activity of companies and in the recovery of normality in the lives of Portuguese families”, adds the manager.
