San Marino, an evening of solidarity for the care of Bryan Toccaceli, former motocross champion
A thread of solidarity unites Italy and San Marino in the name of Bryan Toccaceli, a former motocross champion who is now wheelchair-bound. On 1 May 2018, on the eve of his 23rd birthday, a mechanical failure shut down his bike during a training jump at the Baldasserona circuit and the young sportsman who fell to the ground, causing the fracture of two cervical vertebrae.
The consequences of the accident
After weeks of struggle between life and death, arrived the treatment path at the high specialization Institute of Montecatone lasted several months but Bryan was paralyzed except for the head. From that moment on, the young man and his family needed all the help they could to deal with the new condition of the centaur and in these days the San Marino-Italy association has also decided to dare its contribution by promoting a Thanksgiving benefit concert. The joy of being there. Love for the future. With the patronage of the State Congress and the Embassy of Italy, at the Titano Theater, music by Beethoven and Bach will be proposed in collaboration with the San Marino Musical Institute and with the participation of maestro Raphael Fusco, mezzo-soprano Eva Maria Summerer and of the string quartet Fon.

The president of the association Elisabetta Righi Iwanejko calls the San Marino people together to support their young compatriot: The event was born to share a moment of sociality that we had been doing for a long time. I ask members, fellow citizens, lovers of good music, sensitive people to express with their presence the sense of belonging to the community, for a noble purpose: together with the medical expenses of our young champion of which everyone knows the history and the severity of the accident that dramatically changed his existence. In recent years, the solidarity activities towards Toccaceli and his family have multiplied. Suffice it to recall the three years of vacation donated by the San Marino citizens to their mother Sabrina Guerra to be able to assist him during treatment without losing his job or Valentino Rossi’s choice to hire Bryan as a coach for cross-country talents enrolled in his VR46 Academy.
