The Bloody Bar opens at the Cornavin train station in Geneva
Lagardère Travel Retail Switzerland announces the launch of new F&B operations in Switzerland with the opening of a bespoke restaurant concept, The Bloody Bar.
Lagardère Travel Retail Switzerland, in collaboration with SBB CFF FFS, has opened its first restaurant “The Bloody Bar” at Geneva’s Cornavin train station. It is an exciting move for the group as it marks the launch of the Food and Beverage business line in Switzerland.
SBB train stations are part of the Food & Beverage development strategy of the Swiss branch of Lagardère Travel Retail.
With 171,000 passengers daily, Geneva Cornavin station is the third busiest Swiss station in terms of users per day. This large station offers promising prospects for traffic development in the coming years. The station is the ideal location for Lagardère Travel Retail to open its first restaurant “The Bloody Bar”, located opposite the entrance to the Swiss-French TGV platforms.
To comment on this announcement, Pascal Le Droff, CEO of Lagardère Travel Retail in Switzerland, said: “These new food and beverage outlets are a natural complement to our luxury retail operations (duty free, fashion, duty free for diplomats). Lagardère Travel Retail’s agile Swiss team strives to find new solutions to meet landlords’ expectations. The team worked on a tailor-made concept for the Geneva Cornavin train station. The Bloody Bar proudly represents its canton, its city and its history. The design and architecture are inspired by Geneva culture, particularly the Grottes district and Geneva street artist Anaïs Coulon. The Bloody Bar is part of Geneva’s DNA. This hybrid, on-trend concept can be adapted to the specifics of each station and canton, while staying true to its core design elements: the culture and history of its city.”
