Jorge Palma celebrates 50 years of career with six concerts in Lisbon
“’The Nine Bill Names of God, Jorge Palma’s first single for 50 years and, to mark this date, the musician and songwriter sets himself up for yet another musical challenge. Between September and November, Jorge Palma will make an anthological journey through his discography”, says the artist’s agency, in a statement released today.
The start of the “Antologia” concert cycle takes place on September 25, in the gardens of Palácio Baldaya, with the focus of this show being the album “Só”.
“On October 7th, at Teatro Tivoli, Jorge Palma will revisit ‘Com Uma Viagem na Palma da Mão’, ‘Té Já’ and ‘Anything Pá Música’. On the 26th, on the same stage, attention will fall on ‘Continuous Act’, ‘Wings and Feathers’ and ‘Wrong Side of the Night’”, reads the statement.
In November, on the 1st, also at the Teatro Tivoli, the musician will perform the themes of “Quarto Minguante”, “Bairro do Amor” and “Jorge Palma (Proibido Smoking)” and on the 8th, those of “Norte”, “Voo Night” and “With All Respect”.
“Antologia” ends on November 19, at Capitólio, with a meeting of the group Palma’s Gang, which, in addition to Jorge Palma, also integrated, in the original, Alex Cortez and Flak, from Rádio Macau, and Kalu and Zé Pedro, from Xutos. & Kicks.
Tickets for the concerts of the “Antologia” cycle are now on sale, with prices ranging from 18 to 35 euros. There is also a general pass for the six concerts, with a cost of 135 euros, which in addition to access to all the shows, there is also a bag and a commemorative t-shirt “of these special concerts”.
