Implenia is realizing two large real estate projects in Geneva and Biel

Implenia’s Buildings Division has been awarded the contract for two major real estate projects with a total volume of over 100 million francs. The construction group will realize an office building in the Green Village in Geneva and two replacement buildings in Biel.

Implenia is building an office building in Geneva’s new Green Village district on behalf of the Swiss Life Investment Foundation, the construction group announced on Thursday. The new building called “Kyoto” is to be built on the site of the World Council of Churches and will one day have ten floors including the ground floor. According to the announcement, the project has a total volume of more than 60 million francs.
The construction period for the new building is given as two years. The project was planned with BIM and executed with Lean Construction. The order in Green Village is not the first for Implenia; the Real Estate division has been commissioned to develop the district. The Montreal residential building has already been realized on the site by the Buildings Division.

New residential and commercial building in Biel
The second real estate project is in Biel. In the Brühlstrasse Süd area, Implenia WILL construct two replacement buildings as general contractor for Meili Unternehmungen AG. These will one day have five full floors and offer a total of 105 rental apartments and service areas on the ground floor.
The solid buildings are to have a rear-ventilated wooden facade and be equipped with geothermal probes, heat pumps and a photovoltaic system. According to Implenia, the project stems from a study commissioned by the architects Bart & Buchhofer AG. The order has a total volume of 42 million Swiss francs. Construction is expected to take around two and a half years. (mg/pb)
