Extra helicopter readiness is extended – Dagsavisen
– DSB has made an assessment and wants extra preparedness to helicopter, one from 21.07. until and including 23.07 at Kjevik and the other from 21.07 to and including 25.07 at Kjeller. This is then in addition to the regular at Torp, the forest fire helicopter service informs Twitter.
The state’s forest fire helicopter is on standby from 15 April to 15 August. The use is coordinated by the Main Rescue Center for Southern Norway (HRS).
Twice a week, DSB assesses the danger of forest fires and what helicopter preparedness is needed.
– Ongoing assessments are made throughout the summer, and it is not uncommon to have one or two helicopters on standby in addition to what is on Torp, says press officer Morten Harangen in DSB to NTB.
A yellow danger warning (moderate danger) has been issued for forest fires in Eastern Norway and eastern parts of Agder. The danger lasts until there is enough rainfall.
– Vegetation can easily ignite and large areas can be affected, it says the notice.
