Bankinter very satisfied with the operation in Portugal with no intention of new acquisitions – Companies
The statement by the Spanish bank Bankinter once again stated that the country is satisfied with the operation.

The Spanish bank this Thursday presented profits of 271 million euros in the first half of 2022, an increase of 10.8% compared to the previous semester, with the operation in Portugal contributing 30 euros.
In a statement to the Spanish National Securities Market Commission (CNMV), the group notes that the results are only related to purely financial activity, since in 2021 it includes “four months of revenue from Línea recta”.
“All business lines and income statement items, as well as the main indicators, recorded growth compared to the same period in 2021, which demonstrates Bankinter’s ability to replace with purely banking revenues such as those from Línea Direta, whose Banking Bank Separation2021”, refers to the group in the note.
As for the business it has in Portugal, the banking group “excellent evolution of business indicators”, with profit before tax of 30 million euros, more than 16% than in the first six months of 2021.
The loan portfolio amounted to 7,500 million euros, up 10% year-on-year, and customer funds grew by 19%, to 6,500 million euros.
Bankinter Portugal achieved net interest income and gross income 11% and 9% higher, respectively, than in the same period in 2021.
The Spanish group Bankinter has been in Portugal since 2016, when it acquired part of the activity and commercial network of Barclays.
Bankinter Portugal had 770 employees and 81 branches at the end of 2021.
