Prepare refreshments. Temperatures continue to climb in mainland Portugal
After a slight drop in temperatures at the beginning of the week, it will climb again tomorrow and arrive on Friday, so have a fan on hand or prepare a trip to the pool or beach, not forgetting an important preparation with liquids, to resist at high temperatures.
According to the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and Atmospheres (IPMA), in the next two days, maximum temperatures will be above 30º in most districts of mainland Portugal and some close to 40º.
On Thursday, in the districts of Bragança, Castelo Branco, Portalegre, Évora and Beja, the thermometers will reach almost 40 degrees, while in the coastal regions – Viana do Castelo, Porto, Aveiro, Coimbra, Leiria, Lisbon, Sines and Sagres – will not reach 30º. The minimum temperatures, on the other hand, will not be lower than 15º across the continent.
It should be noted that as of tomorrow, the regions of Bragança and Guarda will change from yellow alert to orange between 9 am on Thursday and 6 pm on Friday. The remaining regions are under a yellow warning – Beja, Évora, Portalegre, Castelo Branco, Viseu and Vila Real – and a green warning, which does not signify any type of danger.
The warning issued by the IPMA indicates a moderate to high risk meteorological situation, while the yellow risk indicates a determined risk situation for a meteorological situation.
