San Marino. IVG, TOMORROW – Motus Liberi leaves freedom of expression to its members
In the July session of the Health Commission, which will begin in the next few days, the bill drawn up by the State Congress following the referendum outcome on the subject of voluntary termination of pregnancy.
It signals it TOMORROW – Motus Liberi recalling how this is a theme which, from the beginning, they made a very specific choice, in total respect of the consciences of each one: a choice of freedom in the expression of their own conviction.
The statute of our Party also provides and guarantees this faculty on ethical issues, specifically for the members of the Council Group in the context of the expression of their opinion and vote.
On such a delicate and important issue, which touches the fundamental rights and sensitivities of each in depth, we do not find ourselves proceeding by joining supporters, which can lead to exploitation or to the mere attempt to gather consensus, rather than to the interest of citizens. .
Precisely for these reasons, TOMORROW – Motus Liberi does not intend to follow this approach and wants to protect, as well as guarantee, freedom of expression on ethical issues by its representatives, who therefore in the institutional seats, be it the competent Commission or the Great and General Council where they will be called to express any position on the subject, will express themselves not in the name of the Party but in a personal capacity based on their own convictions.
With the hope that the fruit of the political confrontation can lead to the elaboration of a balanced text able to reconcile the different sensitivities, as always we will bring our contribution in the interest of the citizens.
