Donations of over 100,000 euros to Ukraine refugee projects in Cologne and Bonn

Sparkasse KölnBonn has put its announcement of donations for projects by prominent war refugees in Cologne and Bonn into practice. In total, even more than the promised 100,000 euros were collected.
The donation amount originally mentioned was increased by around 6,500 euros, with the Sparkasse also being provided with donation vouchers. The vouchers could be found on the platform www.hiermitherz.de be redeemed. In addition, more than 4,800 euros in private donations were received. In this way, the total amount ended up being 111,350.84 euros.
CEO Ulrich Voigt is pleased with the overall result: “It is important to us that this money helps people who have fled Ukraine and at the same time facilitates the refugee work of the many volunteers in Cologne and Bonn. The projects can make good use of these donations. Because Russia’s grueling war in Ukraine is ongoing and causing millions of suffering and flight.”
The donations went to a total of 21 projects in Cologne and Bonn that help Ukrainian war refugees. The organizations had previously registered on the donation platform www.hiermitherz.de, which can be done in just a few steps. Clubs and organizations in Cologne and Bonn have the opportunity to solicit donations for themselves on the portal. The money reaches the recipient without any deductions. The Sparkasse KölnBonn, which set up the portal, assumes the operating costs. Her goal is to make digital donations in the region easy and convenient and in this way to support experts who help in the region themselves.
