West Ham miss target times after breaking Broja update
West Ham are reportedly missing out on the signing of Ludovic Ajorque from Hertha Berlin hours after reports emerged the Irons were close to agreeing a deal for Chelsea striker Armando Broja.
According to Kicker by GGFNthe Strasbourg star is in Berlin to complete his move to the Bundesliga, however, Hertha need to sell a few players first before they can sign Ajorque, who were reportedly a target for West Ham in the January transfer window.
According to Kicker, Krzysztof Piatek and Davie Selke are set to leave Hertha in the coming days, freeing up space in the squad and on the payroll for the German side to sign Ajorque. Although West Ham are interested in the Frenchman, the Hammers already seem to have an alternative target.
Reports broke earlier today that West Ham were close to signing Broja from Chelsea, with the Irons pushing for a £30m deal for the Albania international in what could be the solution to the East London to their striking problems, with Michail Antonio the club’s only reliable option in the position.
The Jamaican international has been the Hammers’ unusual achievement as a leader in attack but Broja could finally be the answer after so many tried and failed experiments for David Moyes’ side, but Ajorque won’t be that player , it seems .
With the Strasbourg striker pocketing more than double what Broja netted last season, West Ham have seemingly opted for the younger, Premier League-proven option, with supporters no doubt more enthusiastic about the signing. 20-year offensive than Ajorque, who now looks set for Hertha.
West Ham choosing Broja over Hertha to sign Ajorque makes sense
Ajorque looked set for a Premier League move after an incredible year in Ligue 1, but with West Ham looking to sign Broja and Hertha making big moves to land the Frenchman, it looks like both clubs are left with forwards sold to the end of this week.
While West Ham signing Broja is an exciting move, Ajorque would have been a solid option given the striker is at the peak of his career, but for Hertha they could finally land a player who can help the fallen Bundesliga giants get back on their feet.
